Southern A'Chord is a newly formed women's community chorus based in Ruston, with members from several parishes throughout northcentral and northeast Louisiana. We sing in the a cappella style and meet regularly to rehearse, perform, socialize and have fun. The chorus - a 501(c)(3) organization - currently has about 15 singers from all walks of life, and we're looking to expand. Women of all ages are welcome. Singers with or without formal experience are encouraged to visit a rehearsal and find out what we're all about. We're a singing sisterhood, and we want to expand our family!
Performances
The main purpose of Southern A'Chord Chorus is to get out and sing for our community.. We are available to perform at a variety of community events and venues. If you're looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your next event, please check out our Hire Us section. And if you're a singer looking for a place to share harmony with like-minded people and the opportunity to perform, then Southern A'Chord could be just the place for you!
Education
In addition to sharing our music with others, another great passion of the chorus is learning more about the art of a cappella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals and a very important component of the chorus experience. This education is presented by our Certified Director and Music Staff, all of whom have many years of experience in a cappella singing.
